Biography of Jay Cunning

Jay's early interest in DJ staring off back in '89 with the Acid House scene and developed over the years with a range of musical influences including various styles of Hardcore, House, D'n'B and Garage. In 1996, 'Just Pure Rhythm' saw Jay pushing more musical boundaries as he teamed up with Royce and Paul Saint for Breakbeat production 'The Situation' and as the breakbeat scene took off, Jay consolidated his diverse choice of styles and concentrated on this new sound.
1999 saw him take up a successful residancy on the infamous pirate station Breaks FM 103.2. In 2002 The station re-lounched via the internet and Jay become part owner and runner of the station. In Feb 2000, always faithful to his roots, Jay's passion for old skool saw him become co -creator of Patchwork, a unique and nostalgic club night which went on to see successful nights and collaborations with promoters like Hi-Rise and KinkyMalinky. Never content to lie down in 2001 Jay teamed up with Ian Davy of Backroom Records to bring a monthly Breakbeat night to the streets of London called Global:beats.
