Biography of Superpitcher
Superpitcher is Aksel Schaufler, a German producer with close ties to Cologne's Kompakt label. Like a lot of other producers on that label, it's nearly impossibly to predict exactly what he'll do next. He made his first appearance on Kompakt's Total 2 compilation in 2000 with “Shadows,' an eerie trip-hop production seemingly designed to soundtrack a 3 A.M. drive down a foggy urban alley. In 2001, he contributed a track to Kompakt's first Speicher 12' and released Heroin, a three-track 12' with three different sounds; “Tomorrow' was later included on that year's Total 3. 2002's Total 4 included yet another track from Schaufler, a straightforward electro-pop cover of Brian Eno's “Baby's on Fire.' Soon after that, Schaufler released his second 12', Yesterday, which featured re-workings of “Tomorrow' and “Heroin.'
He also made another appearance that year on Kompakt's fourth Speicher 12'. Since stepping out, Schaufler has done steady remixing work for the likes of Dntel, Carsten Jost, Contriva Phantom/Ghost, and several others. In spring 2004, Superpitcher released his most dynamic work yet with Here Comes Love. A year later, he released a mix album for Kompakt called Today.
He also made another appearance that year on Kompakt's fourth Speicher 12'. Biography of Tobias Thomas
Tobias Thomas, born 1970, is a member of the Kompakt family since they very early days. He has been working as a DJ since 1990, and was involved in many cooperative projects like Forever Sweet. Thomas did a number of remixes alongside Dettinger, Superpitcher, Michael Mayer and Reinhard Voigt. As an editor for the german music magazine Spex, he's done interviews with Sven Vaeth, Pet Shop Boys, Westbam, Depeche Mode, Wolfgang Tillmans, Erlend Oye, Justin Timberlake and many others. Since 1998 he has been hosting the weekly 'Total Confusion' night with Michael Mayer and Superpitcher in the famous Studio 672 Club in Cologne. as a DJ he played in more than twenty countries and on three continents. He has released two mix-cds titled Fuer Dich (1999) and Smallville (2003) on Kompakt and one with Forever Sweet, titled geben & Nehmen on Ladomat in 1998.

Comment: lovely at 256 kbps. listening was kind of like when you're at the museum and suddenly you're struck dumb by a painting when you really weren't expecting anything to move you. and tourists are looking at you like why is this grown-ass man crying in public but u dont really give a fuck about them bcos you're in the existential zone. pittigrilli says: "sounds like a kafka set - you feel like a bug. quiet good": maybe the best description of all time

Comment: this nicely nice mix remembers me of old studio672 times, where these friendly guys had their residency over years. there are a lot of ambience-creating and deep soundscapes mixed with danceable rythmic tracks in this set. if you like minimal electronic music with influences by pop and ambient this is the one for you...KOMPAKT!!!

Comment: The first 15 min are similar to the Beats in Space set of Superpitcher, that ain't bad because it really starts chill even jazzy. When the set continues it becomes better and better. Great mixing skills and good sounds.
