Biography of Pero Fullhouse
Pero Fullhouse (OmegaRitam, Dallas, Solin)
Pero Fullhouse is Croatia’s best known club DJ and was instrumental in kick-starting the Croatian club scene in the early 90s with a series of parties and club nights. Originally inspired by minimal techno and hard Detroit techno, nowadays, Pero’s DJing has evolved to a techno and house sound, but is still influenced by Detroit techno. “Nowadays, I like to play long sets where I can play a range of music. It must be hypnotic and funky, sometimes deeper, sometimes harder. It must go up and down and have different elements, but always with a groove,” Pero adds.
He has spun alongside with some of the best DJs in the world – working with Carl Cox, Laurent Garnier, Jeff Mills, Derrick May, Stacey Pullen, Mr C, Luke Slater, Richie Hawtin, Claude Young, Terry Francis, Westbam, Matthew Bushwacka and Kevin Saunderson – whom he was instrumental in bringing to Croatia for the first time.
By 1997, Pero set up OmegaRitam with his best friend, Ivan Podrug to promote parties in Croatia. He has also worked had to promote the scene in Croatia, hosting radio shows, launching the first Croatian techno magazine, Techno.hr and booking the world’s finest DJ talent in the stunning Aurora club in Primosten - where he is also resident.
This dedication means Croatia has one of the healthiest scenes in Europe for techno, house and tech-house.
All the big names that played at Aurora were impressed by the resident’s sets and invited Pero to DJ in Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, France and Austria.
As such, Pero is the busiest Croatian DJ and has played a staggering 500 gigs since the mid 90s.
He graced the decks at Berlin’s Love Parade in 1999 and twice at the Paris Techno Parade – 1998 and 1999 – and was a guest at the 10th anniversary of German techno party Mayday in 2001 and at the 6th anniversary of Kozzmozz in 2001, while closer to home, he has played at every big Croatian dance festival.
Pero’s DJing skills are evident on 2002’s ‘Live At Aurora’ mix, the first commercially released techno mix CD by a Croatian DJ. Never one to rest on his laurels, Pero set up a label – also called OmegaRitam – and a sub-label, AlfaRitam two years ago to promote local and international house and techno.
