Biography of Paolo Mojo

Paolo Mojo's sound might be difficult to pin down, but this broad, innovative approach to his craft is making him a name on everyone's lips in 2004. His style incorporates elements of house, funk, techno, breaks, electro, disco and acid. ?I?ve never understood this 'genre' bollocks? he says. 'To me the best DJs always select the best bits from a wide range of sounds and put them together in a way that just makes sense to people.'

It's certainly making sense to lots of people at the moment. Already well established for his tweaked out sets with the likes of tyrant and Sasha at fabric, and a well thumbed global passport, he's really come to the fore this year thanks to a succession of well received productions on labels such as Alternative Route, Big Love and Sabotage. - and one of the best essential mix debuts ever.

Radio One, Mixmag, DJ Magazine and IDJ have all been quick to cite him as one to watch this year - with his first mix cd 'Heretic' set for an autumn release on Sabotage. Forthcoming remixes and projects with the likes of Brancaccio and Aisher, Alex Neri, Nic Fanciulli and Paul Woolford are set to raise his bar even higher.

He also runs Music Is Freedom and Orcmusic record labels, which have consistently attracted good reviews for the past 2 years. He contributes productions and remixes to both regularly, and sees them as the cornerstone of his music output.

“Paolo Mojo is one of the most talented new DJs; he’s a man you’ll be hearing a lot more from.”
John Digweed

“He plays good music!”
Lee Burridge

“I think (Paolo’s) is one of the best demo cds I have heard for a long time.”
Danny Tenaglia

“He is constantly pushing and finding quality house music. One of the best new DJs for sure.”
Hernan Cattaneo

Comment: Solid tracks, great sound, high bitrate but very squelchy though. Still a great set overall.

Comment: Absolutely amazing - this guy is going to take over the world. We had him play in Adelaide as part of the Balance009 tour and he provided us with one of the most awe-inspiring performances ever! check it out on my ITM page, photos and review!

Comment: :-) Hi Party People, I really regret not going to see him play live in my town, I only heard his set on triple J whilst drivin. Does anyone have a track listing of the records he played in Georgia 1, I gotta get em. What can I say, I'm gonna download the rest of the set and keep dancin!

Comment: Excellent first part to a rare 3+ hour set. Paolo Mojo is a great and forthcoming DJ in the global scene. If you follow progressive house releases or John Digweed's Transitions, you will surely know many of the tracks he plays in this mix. Paolo also plays an insane mix of Pryda - Aftermath in this set.

Comment: If you like this DJ, then you will like this set. He is not exactly my cup of tea. But, for a good progressive selection... does fine.

Comment: I never know what to expect from Mojo, but this is a great set. Nice tracks, quality mix, good vibe. The only thing I don't like is the lack of low-end in the recording.

Comment: Its not really my musicworld, but if you like that kind of ibizabeachdiscohouse you need to download it. Good mixing, acceptable soundquality and no vocals. At the end it gets more progressive

Comment: first: this isn't acid. it's somewhere between funky trance and techno.

started out OK. but i'm just not into it. little too funky mixed with the tribal. bunch of cheesy sounds and not well EQed AT ALL.

mixing is ok, but track volumes are a bit off.

Comment: Well, this didn't affect me much. And i have to agree with watson, it's not very well EQed.

Comment: There are some good tracks in this, but the poor sound quality ruined it for me. I found it hard to listen to. Paolo Mojo is very skilled, I'd love to see some more sets like this on here. This is quite an eclectic set - a bit of House and some borderline Trance. This would be good for a late night listen.
