Biography of Oliver Klein

oliver klein-biography-

Oliver Klein has become a brandname among djs and producers worldwide.
The starting shot for his rapidly increasing career was given in 1999 during a studio-fun session with his production partner Jürgen Driessen. The aim was to create technotracks far away from any borders and rules. The result: 2 tracks called “Virus” and “Impfung” exactly hide the feelings – huge funky techno which was not made to press them in any drawer.

The birth of their own label mutekki was forthcoming and was supposed to present Oliver`s personal musical visions from now on.
While mutekki no.1 rapidly turned out to be a classic, the second Klein-Single “Rheinkraft” was already produced, which paves Oliver`s international breakthrough and pushed him in the limelight of the club-events worldwide and which was making way for a plethora of remixes including Tiesto
“Flight 643 ( Love`s on fire)” – which went straight to #36 of the UK sales charts using Oliver`s mix for the video, Members of Mayday “Sonic Empire” and Harry `Choo Choo` Romero “Tania”.
These masterpieces were perfect proof of Oliver`s abilities as a producer. There was no way to stop this german power machine… !!
His follow up single “Timeloop” obtained massive support when international airplays were launched from radio1 key djs such as Seb Fontaine, Judge Jules and Pete Tong. “Timeloop” was the definate floorfiller with Ministry Magazine voting it as one of the 10 best tunes in 2001.

Run over by an avalanche of bookingrequests the dj forefront has been equally action packed for Oliver in the past three years. He accidently found himself spinning regular guest sets in UK`s superclubs such as The Gallery, Passion, Cream, Colours, Type and The Cross sharing the decks with big legends like Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Dave Seaman and Paul van Dyk. This quickly has won him a solid fan base in the UK.
Follow up sets in the global clubland made Oliver a well travelled man, with gigs in Japan, Hong Kong, Columbia, Panama, Rio de Janeiro, Costa Rica, Spain, Czech Republic, Turkey and Russia, he furthered his credibility on the decks.

Two highlights of his dj career were Miami`s WMC 2002, which was powered by Oliver Klein`s unique sound when he headlined the Crobar together with Timo Maas and Seb Fontaine as such as the Germany`s Mayday where he shared the decks of life alongsides dj greats like Westbam and Carl Cox.

His success was sure to be continued with the launch of his much awaited debut mix album “International sound of… Oliver Klein” released by New State Entertainment (UK) and PIAS (Germany). This massive mix album, which has been presented in connection to a worldwide tour and has been released in collaboration with the UK`s superclub Cream was a sure sample of Oliver`s dynamic and powerful mixing skills.
Shortly afterwards Oliver took time out to recoperate from his creative exertion in 2001 and 2002.
Fully recoperated, 2003 was the year to produce his next single entitled “Shakedown” (together with former Inspiral Carpets vocalist Tom Hinley), and his recent output “Cobra Libre”. In between all this work he still made it to give his uncopyable remix-spice to the likes of Who da Funk “Shiny Disco Balls” ( which has been released on Cream Rec. / Subliminal and entered the UK sales charts at #16), Capoeira Twins “Lose Control” , the mid 90-ies trance classic Three`n`one “Reflect” and last but not least he was chosen to remix the Matrix Reloaded featured soundtrack by Rob Dougan “Furious Angels” , released by Cheeky Rec. / BMG.

At the moment Oliver has locked himself away into the studio together with his production partner Jürgen to focus on his first Oliver Klein album, set to be released 2004.

And sometimes he sleeps...
