Marc Barrite a.k.a. DAVE AJU
Marc is a longtime Bay Area music head, DJ, promoter, and producer, and is truly an undiscovered gem amongst us, with both great taste and a wealth of talent. His infectious style has won him releases on Circus Company out of Paris (alongside the likes of Ark, Cabanne, Kean, Mossa, etc.) and Context, the Bay Area label run by Seth Horvitz a.k.a. Sutekh. Although he's played live in Europe to great response, this will be his first legit live performance on his home court of San Francisco.
Barrite has been laying it down around these parts for almost a decade, but with the brilliant, slushy-yet-sleek experimental house records he makes for Ark's Circus Company under the guise of Dave Aju – think déjà vu – I wouldn't be shocked if he up and left for Berlin. God knows I would if I were making sh*t this good
The anomaly known as Dave Aju appeared on the DJ scene in 1995. Disgruntled with industry standards, he set out on the long-term mission to 'rescue dance music from the blahs.' In his hometown of San Francisco, Dave Aju infiltrates various genre-strict circles and exposes unsuspecting heads to his sound with results varying from frustration to salivation. Sometimes minimal, sometimes vegetarian, his music is equally concerned with head scratching and ass shaking. He has recently joined forces with Circus Company in Paris to unleash some of his production madness onto dancefloors around the world.
