Tricky
Taho's first attempts in the composition field go back to the age of eleven. He discovers, thanks to his first computer, the enormous potential of machines in sound creation. Music very quickly becomes a devouring passion and he “sticks” to the sound of the old Acid House. After tampering for four years with synthesisers and magnetos, he invests in his own home studio.
At 17, he performs his first productions live for the first rave of the well known Château of Keriolet in Brittany. Looking for a publishing deal, he draws the attention of Eric Morand & Laurent Garnier. A year later, he signs with F Communication. His first EP 'Vertige' is released in 95.
After a 3 year collaboration with F com. Taho decided to create Lumina (www.lumina.ws), a label attempting a visual exploration of sound. As a producer and a graphic designer, he surrounds himself with innovative artists and creates releases based on new era concepts.
Influences:
Bathed in a musical universe since he was a child, rocked by some Vangélis while passing by some Miles Davis, his music has been for long time influenced by the sound of Mad Mike, Basic Channel, the Orb and the song 'Acid Eiffel' by Ludovic Navarre, Shazz and Laurent Garnier.
His influences widened daily across music such as Reggae (Mad Professor, Peter Tosh, Lee Perry…), the latino music (Suzana Baca, Bebel Gilberto), world music…
Classical and ambient music (Steve Roach, Vir Unis, Vidna Obmana) are the main references for the harmonic compositions of Taho. The German music of Maurizio, with his subliminal melodies, inspire the weaving background of his compositions.
