MIKE VAMP
1982
DJ at the legendary Berlin discotheque Music Hall. Afternoons he tortured his guitar in the backstage between empty bottles, shelves and rats.
1984
Incredible live performances on Mike´s own initiative using early sampler technologies (303). With guitar, vocalists, kettledrums and diverse guest musicians (e.g. David Harrow).
1985
First experiences in large production studios. Music for videoclips for „Berlin Now“ and different german and foreign TV stations.
1986
First solo album „The Coming“ on Dean-Records. „You Are“ is taken from the album and is released on the fi lm music sampler „Die Katze“ („The Cat“).
1988
The 12inch „Jacky Wants Money“ is released. Mike Vamp moves to London to get new creative input. The upcoming acid house wave takes him back to Berlin in time.
1990/91
Guitar wizzard at the „Space Cowboys“. Opening of a cool t-shirt printing shop delivering trendy bootlegged shirts to Berlin´s nightlife.
1996
Foundation of the Martini Brothers DJ Team tog ether with his friends Bories (HardWax) and Harilaus. The same year Mike becomes a solid part of „Ocean Club Radio“ (by Gudrun Gut and Thomas Fehlmann) inkl. a radio show on Radio 1 and a string of „Ocean Club“ events all over Germany.
1997
Katharina Thalbach askes Mike for an electronic treatment of the opera „Don Giovanni“ of W.A. Mozart for a performance at the legendary Berlin club E-Werk. First meetings with DJ Clé to realize the plan. The performance takes place in September 1997 - with great success. Mike and Clé can get along very well and found together the project Märtini Brös.
1998
Since beginning of the year Märtini Brös play live gigs regularely (Berlin, Munich, Leipzig, nantes, Santiago de Chile, NYC...) all over the place.
2000
Foundation and cancellation of the project „Berlin Mitte Boys“ together with Jürgen Laarmann (Frontpage) and Clé.
2001
Opening of an own studio together with Clé. A number of successful productions and remixes as well as music for advertisement clip are following during 2000 and 2001. Mike starts a lounge (Mike Vamp´s Laut Lounge) at Casino/Berlin.
2002
Finishing of the Märtini Brös - debut album for Poker Flat Recordings.
DJ CLÉ
Between 1989-90 DJ Clé plays his first regular DJ gigs at Fischlabor/Berlin. In 1991 he becomes resident at Globus/Tresor (together with DJ Terrible) until he starts his new residency at the legendary Planet/Berlin.
From 1993 Clé playes regularly at E-Werk/Berlin until the famous club shuts down in 1995. Between 1992 and 1995 he also hosts the phantastic Party series „Kaspar´s Camp“ at 90 Grad club, as well as the „Big Sexyland“-events at WMF club.
From 1996 to 1997 Cle´s homebase is the Suicide Club where he has his own clubnight („Clé FC“). End of 1997 the clubnight changes its location to Discount club where Clé pefforms until mid of 1998. In May 1998 Clé starts a new series at Pfefferbank/Berlin called „Chez Clé“.
The project MÄRTINI BRÖS is founded in 1998 together with Mike Vamp. Very soon after their first release on Poker Flat („Audio Park EP“) MÄRTINI BRÖS play live performances all over Germany.
Another project where Clé is involved is founded in January 2000: Berlin Mitte Boys (together with Jürgen Laarmann and Mike Vamp). But the project is cancelled after only one record.
Since mid of 2001 MÄRTINI BRÖS are working on their first album to be out on Poker Flat in 2002.
In spring 2002 the track ‚Tanzen‘ from their last 12“ on Poker Flat will be rereleased with new remixes by Tiga through Superstar Recordings and Poker Flat.
