'Bee Man' Told To 'Buzz Off' After Making Beeline For Schoolgirls Breasts

ICHINOMIYA, Aichi Prefecture, Japan - A man known locally as the "Bee Man" for his propensity to dupe schoolgirls into believing a bee had landed on them so he could distract and molest them was arrested Tuesday, police said.

Hidekazu Maeda, 52, the "Bee Man," was arrested for indecent assault.

Police said that Maeda would target schoolgirls, telling them that a bee had landed on their sailor suit school uniform and then squeezing their breasts as they frantically sought out insects that were never there.

Maeda, police said, struck so often that local schoolgirls warned each other to be aware of the "Bee Man."

Police said the specific case for which Maeda was arrested involved him stopping an 18-year-old high school girl in Inazawa, Aichi Prefecture, on the morning of July 4 and then fondling her breasts.

Maeda is the prime suspect in a series of similar attacks that have recently occurred in the area. (Mainichi)
